I always think that the best way to experience a new destination is to stay at a resort. This way you have all the amenities and activities on site, so you can really relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.
I have just come back from a trip to Cala d'Or, Mallorca, and I absolutely loved it! The town is nestled on the bay and is full of pretty whitewashed houses and narrow streets. It's easy to walk around and there's a great selection of restaurants and bars to choose from.
The best part of the trip, though, was definitely the resort. We stayed at the Barcelo Cala d'Or Palace and it was just perfect. The hotel is set in lush gardens with its own private beach, and there's a huge range of activities and facilities on offer, from a kids' club to a spa.
The location is also great, as it's only a short walk from the town centre, but you feel like you're in your own little world. I would definitely recommend staying at a resort if you're travelling to Cala d'Or with your family - you won't be disappointed!.
